Madrid Tourist Discount Cards
As the capital of Spain, Madrid is unsurprisingly one of the most expensive cities in Spain – whether it is accommodation, eating or sightseeing in Madrid, you’ll have to keep a lookout for bargains in order not to burn a hole in your pocket. For the budget traveler, there are a few ways to save some pennies, besides the long list of free things to do in Madrid. However, unlike its more popular rival Barcelona, Madrid has few tourist passes and discount cards which that can provide you with savings for transportation and sights in Madrid. There is just one tourist discount card in Madrid:
Madrid Card
The official Madrid Card is a city pass that provides free entry into 53 museums, discounts to over hundreds of restaurants, shops and bars, as well as free guided tours and leisure activities.
You are given free entry to major museums in Madrid such as the Prado Museum, Reina Sofia Museum, The Royal Palace of Madrid and the Royal Palace of el Escorial (day trip from Madrid).
With the Madrid Card, you can sign up for three free guided tours: Discover Madrid Guided Tours, Madrid Vision Tourist Hop-on-Hop-Off Bus and Real Madrid Santiago Bernabeu Stadium Tour. The Madrid Vision tourist bus is highly recommended as the tour (usually priced at €15 per adult) brings you all over the city, providing informative background knowledge on each site.
